All Britain Fleadh in St Mary’s University College, Twickenham this weekend Saturday 28-Sunday 29th June 2009 http://www.allbritainfleadh.com/ for details With over 350 musicians of all ages taking part in competitions catering for over 18 instruments in solo and group competitions, and not forgetting singing in the English and Irish languages, St. Mary’s College, Twickenham is set to be a lively place for the weekend. The daytime events will centre on the competitions which attract musicians form Scotland, England, Wales and even Ireland itself. Visitors and supporters are welcome but the music and its performance belongs to the competitors. The Saturday night is a different story. With the stress of competition lifted at 8pm the musicians, singers and dancers let go and do what comes naturally…to play, dance and sing for pure enjoyment. Message from Siobhan Caulfield re the Fleadh: There will be a youth session on the saturday night at around 8pm onwards... It is open to all 'youth' especially for people who are not used to playing in sessions and do not have access to that sort of environment. The idea is to have some fun and play tunes with new people... Over the years the youth sessions have been great fun, and im sure this year will be no different!!
