Colette O'Leary

Colette O'Leary was born in the highly musical area of Sliabh Luachra, Co. Kerry. Having won two All-Ireland titles by the age of 18, she moved to Galway in 1992 where she teamed up with harpist Laoise Kelly and mandolin/banjo player Mary Shannon to form the highly acclaimed internationally touring band Bumblebees. Their debut album was voted one of the top ten albums of the year by Hot Press. Colette moved to London in 2001, subsequently performing and touring in the UK and Australia with singer-songwriter Mark Nevin (Fairground Attraction), as well as with blues singer Mary Coughlan (UK and The Fleadh, London). She has recently recorded her first solo album The Attic Room featuring special guest, vibraphone jazz maestro Roger Beaujolais.

Jamie Smith (Fiddle)
Brought up in Scotland, but now living in London, ace fiddle player Jamie Smith plays with a multitude of bands. Twice ‘All-Britain fiddle champion’ and a finalist for the ‘BBC Radio Scotland Young Trad Musician of the Year’, Jamie has toured extensively in Britain and Europe. He is currently riding high on the success of his debut solo album, released at this year’s Celtic Connections Festival.

Paddy Gallagher (Guitar)
Guitarist Paddy Gallagher is one of London's musical treasures who brings a vast knowledge of tunes and years of experience playing with most of the great musicians who have spent time in London including Tommy McCarthy, Brian Rooney and John Carty. Paddy has a unique style of accompaniment, richly enveloping with the occasional chord that takes the breath away.

 Brian (Banjo)
Brian Kelly began playing traditional Irish music at the age of 7 under the tutelage of Brendan Mulkere from Co. Clare. He took up the mandolin aged 9 and the banjo aged 10. He won the All Ireland banjo title on his first attempt, aged 11 and went on to win eight All Ireland Championships in total (four each on banjo and mandolin).

Brian has held prestigious residencies in London including The Swan, Stockwell with Gino Lupari, Pat Kilbride and Athena Tergis, and The Stag’s Head, Camden Town with Paddy Gallagher. He has appeared with Alec Finn, Brian Kennedy, Brendan Power and Ron Kavana and alongside band members of Lúnasa, the Afro Celts, Dervish and Nomos.

Brian launched his first solo eponymous album at the 2001 Return to Camden Town Festival. He has also had impressive success in the Irish charts with the dance-trad fusion band Dance to Tipperary.
